Yamagata Community Fund –

 

Supported by donations from citizens and companies, this creative fund is launched in 2005 to provide financial support to citizen groups and NPOs which are doing pro vono activities to improve Yamagata City. It is the first initiative in Japan to use the civic polls to examine a municipal grant. Grants are offered based on applicants’ presentation about their needs and activities.
