What’s Creative Café？

Yamagata City of Film organizes a monthly event named Creative Café, where people in Yamagata can exchange opinions and get to know each other without concerning the differences in age, sex, and nationality.

There are two types of 2019 Creative Café:

1. an event inviting a guest speaker from culture or film section to talk, discuss or do a workshop
2. a screening to introduce works made in Yamagata City

Yamagata Manabikan, 3rd floor

1-5-19 Hon-cho, Yamagata City, Yamagata

• Take “Benichan bus” to “Honcho” bus stop and 3 minutes walk to the venue
• The Yamagata Manabikan Free Parking was closed due to road construction. Please use public transportations or public parking to reach the site.

 

ADMISSION

• FREE
• Please apply to participate in the event as a dancer. (10 people in maximum)
• If you are only willing to take a look at the event, you do not need to apply.
• Either participants or observers must wear comfortable outfits.

CONTENT

Experience contemporary dance, boost your creativity!

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that is not strained to specific dance genres. This session’s lecturer, Ms. KATO, says, “anyone can be a contemporary dancer, showing their creativity and their minds through physical moves.” 

Yamagata City has been planning to renovate “Yamagata Manabikan” as a hub for the Yamagata City of Film. It is a collaborative event of our new center and the Creative Café. The 3rd floor is usually not opened for the public, so it is a special occasion for the citizens to enter the unique place of the Yamagata Manabikan.

At the end of the session, we will make a short video of the participants dancing contemporary all together under the same theme. It will be uploaded on our website and social media.
